Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University has selected the Tecnam Aircraft P-92 MkII to fly in future flight competitions.

CAPUA – Chosen due to its wide variance of flight capabilities — including speeds, visibility, advanced avionics and innovative interior design, along with the low operating cost — the Tecnam P-92 MkII will be piloted by the Eagles Flight Team, representing Embry‑Riddle’s Daytona Beach Campus. The Eagles Flight Team competes at the annual National Intercollegiate Flying Association’s (NIFA) National and Regional Safety and Flight Evaluation Conferences (SAFECON).

The aircraft will be used within the competition to perform message drops, navigation, power-off landings, short-field landings and numerous other competitive events. The Eagles Flight Team boasts a long record of success in Region IX flight competition.

According to Ken Byrnes, Embry-Riddle’s assistant dean and Flight chair, “Our selection of the Tecnam P-92 at Embry-Riddle reflects a step change in the continuation of providing safe, reliable and cost-efficient platforms for our Eagle’s Flight Team to remain competitive in the future.”

CAPUA – Tecnam announced today that leading Melbourne flight school, Avia Aviation, based at Moorabbin, will become Australia’s first “Tecnam Flight School”.

With a fleet of new Tecnam aircraft online for training, including the popular 2-seat P92 Echo MKII; IFR certified, 2-seat P-Mentor; IFR certified, diesel engine, Jet A1 powered, 4-seat, P2010 TDI; IFR certified, Rotax powered P2006T twin; and an 11-seat, IFR certified, P2012 Traveller for charters. TECNAM P92 Echo MkII joins the low-wing Sierra MkII already certified in the European Light Aircraft Category.

CAPUA – Italy.  Tecnam announced today the certification of the P92 Echo MkII light aircraft to the new German 600kg rules, the latest version of the EASA Basic Regulation that now allows for 600kg MTOW Ultralight (UL) aircraft under the control of the CAAs of the member states.

Germany is the first country to declare the opt-out, implementing the new-regulation German 600kg technical LTFUL 2018 rules. It is also the first country to develop and publish the necessary airworthiness requirements for these aircraft, delegating the certification process to the DULV (Deutscher Ultraleichtflugverband e.V.) agency.

Tecnam strongly believes in the new certification of the P92 Echo MkII, since it is not being limited to the German market but the Type approval is recognised in several EASA countries.
