Cantor Air expands fleet with Tecnam https://tecnam.com/cantor-air-expands-fleet-with-tecnam/ Sat, 24 Feb 2024 07:45:28 +0000 https://tecnam.com/?p=24082

Berlin, Germany – Tecnam announced today, at the opening of the 2024 Pilot Expo in Berlin, that the Italian Flight Training Organization Cantor Air (IT.ATO.0004) has confirmed the order of three P2010 TDI four-seater, and two additional P2008JC two-seater.

Cantor Air, established in 2007, offers a modern modular pilot training program for Commercial pilots as well as private owners and started its fleet transition to more modern and sustainable platforms in 2017, with the acquisition of their first four Tecnam P2008 JC aircraft.

Seven years later this transition continues with the acquisition of the additional P2008 JC aircraft and the introduction in fleet of the four-seater, IFR, P2010 TDI powered by the Continental CD-170 Diesel/JetA1 engine that will allow the phase out and replacement of ageing legacy aircraft.

Beyond the notable qualities of the P2008 JC, already operated and well established within the ATO since its initial acquisition, the Cantor Air pilots will now also benefit of the P2010 TDI renown performances, capabilities, and comfort.

The “Twenty-Ten” is equipped with an advanced avionics based on the state of the art Garmin G1000 Nxi, enhancing the mission accomplishment through Electronic Stability & Protection and Synthetic Vision, significant safety features when flying over the Alps region and during IFR training typical missions of the ATO.

The P2010 airframe, with its wide composite fuselage and the all-metal wing and stabilator, has proven to be the perfect platform to match the CD-170 engine efficiency, combining the easiness of the Single Lever Power Control engine management to an exceptional fuel economy: the aircraft offers an outstanding fuel burn that ranges from just 4.5 USG/hr (17 litres/hr) at 55% power, to 7 USG/hr (27 litres/hr) at 75% power. Nevertheless the engine provides a constant 91% maximum continuous power up to 10,000ft and a maximum operating altitude of 18,000ft, allowing the P2010 TDI to definitely “soar higher”.

More notably the dual FADEC powerplant grants extremely low operating costs and emissions, and the use of Jet Fuels or Sustainable Aviation Fuel. SAF is already available at many airports throughout Europe which means that up to 80% of net CO2 emissions can be saved by its utilization. And, with a range beyond 1,200 nm, and an endurance in excess of 12 hours, the P2010 Tdi is the perfect choice not only for Flight Training Organizations (which can count on a single refuelling for a whole training-day), but for private mobility too.

TECNAM, which produces the most complete, fuel efficient and less emitting fleet (both single and twin engine) for Flight Training Organization, is constantly committed to provide the most achievable and sustainable solutions towards a greener future and successful business for its valuable clients.

Roberto Magnani, Cantor Air Head of Training, said: “We are honoured to partner with Tecnam to bring innovation and sustainability in a very competitive market environment. Modern pilots need modern machines, to be trained in the most professional and sustainable way.”

With this new acquisition, Cantor will increase its fleet to 19 aircraft, including three P2010 Tdi and six P2008JC, which will enable them to train more than 200 students annually.

Francesco Sferra, Tecnam P2012 & Special Mission Platforms Sales and Business Development Manager said: “Tecnam is proud of supporting the Cantor Air fleet development through the introduction of three P2010 TDI and the addition of two P2008 JC. In a path towards advanced, safe, and sustainable training solutions, Tecnam is in the front line to provide a significant and tangible contribution to reducing emissions.”

NEW ZEALAND AIRLINE ACADEMY PLACES TEN AIRCRAFT ORDER WITH TECNAM https://tecnam.com/new-zealand-airline-academy-places-ten-aircraft-order-with-tecnam/ Wed, 15 Nov 2023 13:07:44 +0000 https://tecnam.com/?p=23494

The largest Flight Training Organisation in NZ has a full-Tecnam fleet.

DUBAI AIRSHOW – Tecnam and New Zealand Airline Academy Limited (NZAAL) announced today a firm order for 10 Tecnam aircraft, consisting of eight single engine P2008 JC Night VFR, one single engine P-Mentor IFR trainer with RNAV capability and ballistic safety parachute, plus one multi-engine P2006T Premium edition aircraft. The first of these, the Tecnam P2006T aircraft, is flying direct from the factory in Capua, Italy to the NZAAL base in Oamaru, New Zealand. The remaining nine training aircraft are scheduled for delivery starting in the 2nd quarter of 2024.

This strategic investment underscores NZAAL’s dedication to providing unparalleled training experiences and further solidifies its position as a global leader in aviation education.

New Zealand Airline Academy Limited (NZAAL) is a New Zealand based award-winning flight training organization, holding certifications under Part 141 of the Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand and Part 141 of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam.

As an exclusive cadet pilot training provider for Air India’s group AIX Connect (formerly Air Asia India), NZAAL is strategically located in the picturesque locale of Oamaru, North Otago. Three towered airfields with instrument approaches are in close proximity to the base airfield with many more coastal and mountain airfields offering challenging and varied weather conditions that create real-world flying conditions for cadets.

Established in 2018, by two seasoned aviation professionals, NZAAL started flight training with one Tecnam P2008. Five years later, this ten aircraft expansion will take their Tecnam fleet to a total of 24 aircraft and overall fleet total to 26 aircraft including two P2006T Twin advanced Multi IFR trainers a tribute to the two Directors of NZAAL who embarked on their commercial pilot training journey in New Zealand over sixteen years ago.

“When we set out to establish the New Zealand Airline Academy, we meticulously sought an aircraft that would epitomize excellence in several crucial aspects. Our selection criteria included unparalleled safety features, the ability to endure the rigorous demands of flight training, seamless transition from training aircraft to modern day jets through state-of-the art technology, a commitment to environmental sustainability, local dealer support and cost-effectiveness. Tecnam emerged as the unequivocal winner, embodying each of these criteria effortlessly, making it the clear and optimal choice for our flight school.” Said Jonathan Manuel, CEO & Director of NZAAL.

“It is great to see the growth of NZAAL. They have developed an almost perfect business model for a flight school that is a paradigm for the region and the world. This model is based on the Tecnam fleet. And we are very proud of this, because our vision for 75 years has been exactly this: the production of simple but modern, safe and economically attractive aircraft for every flight school.” Said Walter Da Costa, Chief Sales Officer of Tecnam.

LTR NZAA CEO & Director Jonathan Manuel, Tecnam CSO Walter Da Costa

NZAAL’s inception was propelled by a keen insight into the shortcomings of traditional flight training organizations across New Zealand who had persisted with legacy (old) trainers.

In response, the academy spearheaded a paradigm shift by introducing top-tier training programs utilizing state-of-the-art Tecnam glass cockpit aircraft. This innovative approach ensured a seamless transition for students from training aircraft to the sophisticated cockpits of contemporary jets.

Setting itself apart as the sole fixed-wing training provider in New Zealand employing touch screen glass cockpit aircraft throughout the training spectrum, NZAAL proudly boasts cutting-edge technology. These modern aircraft feature four levels of terrain alerts, synthetic vision, moving map displays, and advanced traffic awareness (ADS-B in & out). Beyond honing skills in situational awareness and airmanship, NZAAL’s philosophy is deeply rooted in prioritizing student safety through the integration of the latest market-available technology.

In a pioneering move, NZAAL became the first and only FTO in New Zealand to invest in electronic carbon monoxide detectors, providing both aural and visual alerts on the glass cockpit display. This unwavering commitment to safety aligns with the academy’s core belief that no student should ever be at risk in challenging situations.

NZAAL also owns and operates New Zealand Aircraft Engineering Limited, a Tecnam Authorised service centre in Oamaru, New Zealand.

Tradition, innovation and vision. These factors are spearheading Tecnam to wider horizons. Based on recent data and industry benchmarks, Tecnam is offering the greenest training fleet in the world. Flight schools operating Tecnam’s single- and twin-engine fleet can save as much as 10 tonnes of CO2 emissions for every single student graduating with a Commercial Pilot License – a 60% reduction compared to fleet using 100LL fuel on a journey of 155 flight hours, 30h of which on twin (www.Tecnam.com/soar-greener).

SERBIAN PRINCE AVIATION CHOOSE TECNAM TO UPDATE THE TRAINING FLEET https://tecnam.com/serbian-prince-aviation-choose-tecnam-to-update-the-training-fleet/ Wed, 18 Jan 2023 09:15:55 +0000 https://tecnam.com/?p=21783

Fleet additions include single and twin engines aircraft.

CAPUA – Tecnam announced today that delivery has commenced to Serbia based Prince Aviation, of two Tecnam P2008JC MkII and one P2006T MkII multi-engine aircraft.

By selecting Tecnam to renew its training fleet, Prince Aviation can now offer the highest standards in pilot training in the region of Western Balkans and South East Europe. Introduction of the Tecnam models will provide Prince Aviation’s students state of the art aircraft that will support their flight training and education, giving them their first insight into the modern aviation world. Since 1992, Prince Aviation’s flight training organization has trained more than 500 pilots, confirming to be the leading FTO in the region. By completing a Tecnam Maintenance Training Course, Prince will shortly become an Authorized Tecnam Service Center, providing certified support to their fleet and Tecnam customers in the area.

With its carbon-fibre fuselage, metal wings and stabilator, the Tecnam P2008JC MkII has a large number of advantages over traditional aircraft. The combination of both composite material and metal has resulted in a more fuel-efficient and much quieter aircraft which has become a favorite of many Flight Training Organizations.

The Tecnam P2008JC MkII features a number of significant enhancements: a new avionics suite and a new design of both the instrument panel and glare shield, enabling the introduction of Garmin’s innovative G3X Touch display with a MD302 attitude instrument. VFR Night is optional.

The P2006T MkII is a twin-engine, four-seat aircraft with fully retractable landing gear.  It offers innovative design with a modern Garmin avionics suite which integrates all primary flight, navigation, communication, terrain and engine data on two high-definition LCD displays. The P2006T is standard equipped with an advanced feature S-TEC 55x high-performance, two-axis autopilot. Fitted with two Rotax 912S3 engines, the Tecnam P2006T MkII exhibits remarkable fuel saving and can be operated either on AVGAS or MOGAS 95 octane fuel (which leads to huge operating cost reductions).
