MFT’s Platinum Multi-Engine program provides an accelerated, no-wait multi-engine training path, designed to address growing industry demand for efficient and high-quality pilot training. With the FAA’s approval of self-examining authority, students enrolled in the program can now complete their checkrides in-house, significantly reducing delays traditionally caused by limited Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) availability.

“We’re thrilled to offer our students this accelerated multi-engine training option,” said David Cruz, Chief Instructor at Melbourne Flight Training. “Our mission has always been to provide top-tier flight training, and the addition of this new course will take our students to the next level in their careers.”

The Tecnam P2006T MKII continues to be the aircraft of choice for multi-engine training institutions around the world. Its modern avionics, proven reliability, fuel-efficient twin Rotax 912 engines, and low operating costs make it an ideal platform for training the next generation of commercial pilots.

“We’re honored to support Melbourne Flight Training’s mission of excellence with our P2006T,” said Giovanni Pascale Langer, Tecnam Managing Director. “Their commitment to providing high-quality, efficient training aligns perfectly with our values, and we’re proud that Tecnam plays a central role in their growing fleet.”

Additionally, Melbourne Flight Training is proud to announce its new self-examining authority across multiple flight training programs, including Instrument, Commercial Multi Add-On, and Certified Flight Instructor courses. Students enrolled in these programs can now take their checkrides directly with MFT’s qualified instructors, without the need to wait for availability with outside DPEs.

“This expansion of our self-examining authority for our 141 commercial multi engine program breaks through the current industry barriers affecting students who are waiting in long lines for DPE checkrides,” said Derek Fallon, President. “MFT is a leader in commercial multi engine training and is committed to providing the most efficient, effective multi engine flight training possible.”

Melbourne Flight Training continues to attract both local and national students, reinforcing its reputation as a premier destination for aspiring pilots. Tecnam is pleased to be a trusted partner in MFT’s ongoing growth and success.

Tecnam delivers the 400th P2006T Twin to Bartolini Air https://tecnam.com/tecnam-delivers-the-400th-p2006t-twin-to-bartolini-air/ Fri, 23 Feb 2024 11:11:50 +0000 https://tecnam.com/?p=24072

Berlin – Tecnam today reached a significant milestone by delivering the 400th Tecnam P2006T Twin to Bartolini Air, Poland’s leading flight training organisation. The renowned Polish flying school has also taken delivery of SN/200; handover of the keys took place during the Pilot ExpoBerlin.

Designed in 2006, the Tecnam P2006T Twin’s has established itself as the aircraft of choice not only for the world’s most prestigious flight training organisations, but also for private owners. The P2006T enables multi-engine piston training to be provided at a cost that is unrivalled by older twin engine aircraft.

With 400 P2006T’s now in service worldwide, it consistently comes out on top in the most rigorous of competitor fly-off evaluations. As well as flight schools, Tecnam has partnered with a number of air forces and other niche operators who are now flying special versions of the twin, such as the P2006T SMP version for aerial operations.

Bartlomiej Walas, Managing Director of Bartolini Air, said: “I still remember the first time I saw a picture of the P2006T on the cover of an aviation magazine. It was just a drawing with a short description inside. I said to myself, this is exactly what we need to take Bartolini Air’s training offering into the 21st century. And that is what we are doing. Today, if you are a passenger of Ryanair or another major European airline, it’s quite likely that your pilot made his or her first multi-engine IFR flight in a shiny Tecnam P2006T at Bartolini Air. This new addition to the fleet is another milestone, which will help accommodate growing demand for our training.”

Since the first P2006T in the fleet, S/N 33 – SP-DZW acquired in 2010, Bartolini Air now operates a training fleet of 15 aircraft, in large majority made of Tecnam: 8 P2008JC’s 2 P-Mentors, 4 P2006T’s and 1 P2010. Five more Tecnams will join the fleet in early 2024, which, will bring the number of Bartolini Air aircraft to 23 (including  CAP 10C NG dedicated to advanced UPRT and aerobatics and 3 Citation Jets operated by a subsidiary AOC-holder).

Bartolini Air provides over 12,000 flight training hours per year, qualifying over 200 students who are today pilots for many of the world’s major airlines. Since 2010, more than 2000 students from around the world have been trained on the P2006T. The P2006T fleet, accumulated 26, 000 flight hours.

Walter Da Costa, CSO Tecnam, said: “Key to the success of the P2006T Twin has been our commitment to offer our customers unbeatable value, coupled with low operating and ownership costs, innovative design and Italian styling.

The Rotax engines, in particular, allow the Tecnam P2006T to be an environmental leader as well. With remarkable fuel savings and significantly lower noise emissions, it has redefined both the flight training and ownership experience in a single step”.

NEW ZEALAND AIRLINE ACADEMY PLACES TEN AIRCRAFT ORDER WITH TECNAM https://tecnam.com/new-zealand-airline-academy-places-ten-aircraft-order-with-tecnam/ Wed, 15 Nov 2023 13:07:44 +0000 https://tecnam.com/?p=23494

The largest Flight Training Organisation in NZ has a full-Tecnam fleet.

DUBAI AIRSHOW – Tecnam and New Zealand Airline Academy Limited (NZAAL) announced today a firm order for 10 Tecnam aircraft, consisting of eight single engine P2008 JC Night VFR, one single engine P-Mentor IFR trainer with RNAV capability and ballistic safety parachute, plus one multi-engine P2006T Premium edition aircraft. The first of these, the Tecnam P2006T aircraft, is flying direct from the factory in Capua, Italy to the NZAAL base in Oamaru, New Zealand. The remaining nine training aircraft are scheduled for delivery starting in the 2nd quarter of 2024.

This strategic investment underscores NZAAL’s dedication to providing unparalleled training experiences and further solidifies its position as a global leader in aviation education.

New Zealand Airline Academy Limited (NZAAL) is a New Zealand based award-winning flight training organization, holding certifications under Part 141 of the Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand and Part 141 of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam.

As an exclusive cadet pilot training provider for Air India’s group AIX Connect (formerly Air Asia India), NZAAL is strategically located in the picturesque locale of Oamaru, North Otago. Three towered airfields with instrument approaches are in close proximity to the base airfield with many more coastal and mountain airfields offering challenging and varied weather conditions that create real-world flying conditions for cadets.

Established in 2018, by two seasoned aviation professionals, NZAAL started flight training with one Tecnam P2008. Five years later, this ten aircraft expansion will take their Tecnam fleet to a total of 24 aircraft and overall fleet total to 26 aircraft including two P2006T Twin advanced Multi IFR trainers a tribute to the two Directors of NZAAL who embarked on their commercial pilot training journey in New Zealand over sixteen years ago.

“When we set out to establish the New Zealand Airline Academy, we meticulously sought an aircraft that would epitomize excellence in several crucial aspects. Our selection criteria included unparalleled safety features, the ability to endure the rigorous demands of flight training, seamless transition from training aircraft to modern day jets through state-of-the art technology, a commitment to environmental sustainability, local dealer support and cost-effectiveness. Tecnam emerged as the unequivocal winner, embodying each of these criteria effortlessly, making it the clear and optimal choice for our flight school.” Said Jonathan Manuel, CEO & Director of NZAAL.

“It is great to see the growth of NZAAL. They have developed an almost perfect business model for a flight school that is a paradigm for the region and the world. This model is based on the Tecnam fleet. And we are very proud of this, because our vision for 75 years has been exactly this: the production of simple but modern, safe and economically attractive aircraft for every flight school.” Said Walter Da Costa, Chief Sales Officer of Tecnam.

LTR NZAA CEO & Director Jonathan Manuel, Tecnam CSO Walter Da Costa

NZAAL’s inception was propelled by a keen insight into the shortcomings of traditional flight training organizations across New Zealand who had persisted with legacy (old) trainers.

In response, the academy spearheaded a paradigm shift by introducing top-tier training programs utilizing state-of-the-art Tecnam glass cockpit aircraft. This innovative approach ensured a seamless transition for students from training aircraft to the sophisticated cockpits of contemporary jets.

Setting itself apart as the sole fixed-wing training provider in New Zealand employing touch screen glass cockpit aircraft throughout the training spectrum, NZAAL proudly boasts cutting-edge technology. These modern aircraft feature four levels of terrain alerts, synthetic vision, moving map displays, and advanced traffic awareness (ADS-B in & out). Beyond honing skills in situational awareness and airmanship, NZAAL’s philosophy is deeply rooted in prioritizing student safety through the integration of the latest market-available technology.

In a pioneering move, NZAAL became the first and only FTO in New Zealand to invest in electronic carbon monoxide detectors, providing both aural and visual alerts on the glass cockpit display. This unwavering commitment to safety aligns with the academy’s core belief that no student should ever be at risk in challenging situations.

NZAAL also owns and operates New Zealand Aircraft Engineering Limited, a Tecnam Authorised service centre in Oamaru, New Zealand.

Tradition, innovation and vision. These factors are spearheading Tecnam to wider horizons. Based on recent data and industry benchmarks, Tecnam is offering the greenest training fleet in the world. Flight schools operating Tecnam’s single- and twin-engine fleet can save as much as 10 tonnes of CO2 emissions for every single student graduating with a Commercial Pilot License – a 60% reduction compared to fleet using 100LL fuel on a journey of 155 flight hours, 30h of which on twin (www.Tecnam.com/soar-greener).

The Kansas flying academy placed an order for 30 aircraft.

CAPUA – Tecnam announced today that Kilo Charlie Aviation has placed orders for a total of 30 Tecnam aircraft over the next two years.

Kilo Charlie Aviation is located near Kansas City at New Century Air Center, formerly known as Naval Air Station Olathe, a joint civil-military general aviation airport. The school has 96 students and was founded in 2020 by Robert Renfro and Drew Konicek, experienced pilots.

The Tecnam solution selected by Kilo Charlie Aviation is based on the full IFR P-Mentor and the twin-engine P2006T.

Students start their training in a P-Mentor with a modern Garmin G3x glass cockpit. In addition to an already very stable platform, the aircraft will be equipped with the optional BRS ballistic parachute. After completing their instrument rating (IFR) in the P-Mentor, students can transition into the P2006T twin engine to train for their MEP (Multi Engine Propeller).

The first of 15 deliveries will be 3 P2006T and 12 P-Mentor aircraft. Phase II of 30 aircraft will follow after the last of these first 15 have been delivered.

About the P-Mentor

The P-Mentor is a two-seat, single engine, piston, fully IFR aircraft, compliant with the latest CS-23 EASA & FAA requirements, allowing PBN/RNAV/AFCS capabilities. It gives modern flight schools a single platform to train students from their first flight, up to their commercial pilot license, and instrument rating. It has a variable pitch propeller, and a simulated retractable landing gear option.

The P-Mentor is designed to offer the best human-machine interface, resulting in the most effective VFR/IFR training. The generous fuel tank allows flight schools to fly all day long, without refueling, which improves operational value. With its outstanding operational cost, this aircraft offers a unique profit opportunity for flight schools.

SPANISH FLYSCHOOL AIR ACADEMY INCREASES FLEET CAPACITY WITH TECNAM https://tecnam.com/spanish-flyschool-air-academy-increases-fleet-capacity-with-tecnam/ Thu, 22 Jun 2023 07:32:09 +0000 https://tecnam.com/?p=22964

CAPUA – Tecnam announced today that Spanish academy FLYSCHOOL AIR ACADEMY purchased another P2006T MkII twin engine. With this P2006t MkII purchase, Flyschool completes his fleet with 20 aircraft.

Fitted with two Rotax 912S3 engines, the Tecnam P2006T exhibits remarkable fuel saving and can be operated on AVGAS and MOGAS 95 octane fuel, leading to huge cost reductions.

Acquiring the P2006T will allow Flyschool  to offer more flight time and a quicker way to move through multi-engine ratings.  The P2006T is ideal for flight training, as the aircraft has proved to be very unstressful to fly, the controls are light to operate, and even with one inoperative engine, the pressure needed to cope with the asymmetric thrust is very low.

Beyond the benefit of the aircraft, FLYSCHOOL AIR ACADEMY confirmed Tecnam for the support and the involvement received, before during and after the purchase. The academy has also its own service center to maintain the fleet in perfect efficiency. For this reason, FLYSCHOOL AIR ACADEMY, is considering expanding even more the fleet.

“FLYSCHOOL AIR ACADEMY board of directors is very happy with the new aircraft and with the factory services, reason why we are studying the purchase of new models in the short term to continue with the plan of renewing the fleet”, said Rafael López, Flyschool Air Academy CEO

FLYSCHOOL AIR ACADEMY demonstrates how a flight school of the next century can offer modern aircraft and lower prices to students, thanks to the latest technologies in General Aviation, such as efficient engines, modern avionics and constant support.” Said Walter Da Costa, Tecnam Chief Sales Officer.
